In the Iranian steel market, 3SP and 5SP steel billets are well-known grades widely considered by buyers and steel section manufacturers. The main differences between these grades are related to their carbon content, the ranges of certain alloying elements, and the resulting differences in the mechanical properties of the steel.

Due to its lower carbon content, 3SP billet is generally considered for applications where formability and deformation capability are important. In contrast, 5SP billet, with its higher carbon content, may be suitable for manufacturing products that require different mechanical properties.
